Displacement: 0 Miles
Clarksburg is a burnt-out husk of a city that no one should ever have to experience. Clarksburg is plastered in depressing municipal reminders that Stonewall Jackson was born here in 1824. Wikipedia tells me that it was a pre-war glass manufacturing center that has halved its population since 1950. I scrapped my plans in town, returned to my motel, and plan to put in as much distance as I can starting early tomorrow.

Just arrived home from our much shorter trip to Philadelphia. Now we are able to view your blog and pictures better and have enjoyed both very much. You should be close to Ohio and your 5th state, 6th if you count D.C. or 7th if you count going in and out of Maryland again! Love you.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that Clarksburg turned out to be so disappointing; must have been founded by a poor relation of the family. We always look forward to your blog entries and commentary on the passing scene, good, bad and indifferent. DAD
