I stopped at a gas station's convenience store and found this, rejoice all ye Jugalos:

I continued on through the significant mountain terrain and made my way back onto Maryland. At the top of the day, I found myself at Backbone Mountain, the Eastern continental divide, along with a small, unlisted motel attached to a family run pizza place. I put in for the night and an early morning start the next day.
Wow! You caught up on all the missing days between Day 26 and Day 38. It is great to have this fuller picture of your trip and to learn about the terrain in West Virginia. Great pictures as always. You were lucky to see spring bloom in the Shenandoah Valley and the beautiful gardens there.
ReplyDeleteRed Pop is incredible. Haven't had it since I was a kid. I don't suppose your route took you by Sideling Hill? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sideling_Hill
